Summer Fiesta in Minoh Park 2014

During the festival period, the Mino Waterfall will be illuminated, creating a cool atmosphere that is different from usual!
Mino park is famous place for the turn leaves but illuminated is also pretty!

They have two restaurants along to a liver!
These are also pretty nice!

Must be nice lunch or dinner with seeing the liver!

Rice Planting Ritual @ Sumiyoshi Shrine in Osaka

Have you heard about "Sumiyoshi Shrine" ?

It's famous shrine for one of the oldest one in Japan.

And it's known for one of most visited shrines in the country on New years day.

About 2million people visit here!! 

 

On the 14th of June, they will have "Rice Planting Ritual".

You can see the people in constume and how to plant rice seeding in the fields in old days.

At the end of the event, you will see the famous rice planting dance and Sumiyoshi dance by 150 girls!

Abeno Harukas 300- The highest building in Japan has opened in Osaka!!

Hello! This is Masae from Osaka Hana Hostel.
Osaka has became warmer day by day and I cannot wait to see Sakura soon!!

I want to introduce one of my favorite town in Osaka
"Tennoji"  天王寺

It has developed the big town like Umeda area (Kita) and Namba/Shinsaibashi (Minami) in Osaka.

The tallest building is Japan has opened on the 7th of March in Tennoji !!!
It's called Abeno HARUKAS.

Height is 300m!!

There are Observation deck, Kintetsu department store, Restaurants, Art Museum and Marriott Hotel (the first one in Kansai area) , Station and Office, in this building.

From the April, you can buy same date tickets or 2months advanced ticket on the 2nd or 16th floor of Abeno HARUKAS　or at any Family Mart (convenience store) by using "Famiport"(ticket machine).

I wanna recommend this Osaka map!!

Osaka shopping arcade =the longest one in Japan=

I got some questions from the guests
"I want to go somewhere today, but not so much touristy place, is there anywhere you recommend?"

I recommend “Tenjimbashi-Suji Shopping Street”.
If you want to see everyday life in Osaka.

It is the longest roofed shopping street in Japan
- about 2.6km (1.6miles)!!!


This is the beginning of arcade at 6chome area.

It runs from Tenjinbashi-suji 1chome to 7chome (chome is a kind of district) and you can find so many small shops and restaurants.

The reason why I recommend this place is that’s where I have been living this area for 16years!!

Each district has different atmosphere and I love specially around 5-6chome area.
The street is narrow from 6chome and 5chome and crowded with people and bicycle (people need to push their bike on this street, but not really....)

I will introduce some shops around this area.


Famous takoyaki shop "Wanaka". They serve fancy Takoyaki with beer or wine!

Reasonable price shop everywhere.
But if you go back there few days later, the shop is not there anymore because they rent a place temporally.

100yen shop and next door is the arcade(game center).

Shoes shop- any shoes 2000yen in this shop!
When I took my friend here, she found the shoes she wants but took long time to find her size, because there are shoes everywhere!
It was like a treasure hunting!!

on the left is "Harukoma" and on the right "Sushi-Masa"at night you can see people line up.
They have a English menu.

When you get to 4chome you feel you have more space to walk.

This is just a beginning of the arcade, so you can spend a day to walk around.

Universal studios Japan

Universal studios Japan is one of the main spot for Osaka sightseeing.

A terrifying attraction themed on the movie  "The Mummy" has just been opened there.

Furthermore, the another terrifying attraction themed on "BIOHAZARD" has been opened too.
Zombies and monsters  will walk around the park and scare you!!

And also Jason Voorhees from " Friday the 13th" will be on the Halloween horror night.

You can experience the scary night there!!

Well, it's not special but you might like it.

Tenjin Festival

There is a big festival going on on the July 24th and 25th.

According to Wikipedia, Tenjin festa is one of the biggest festivals in Japan.
I have never been there yet, but I luckily got a morning shift on the 25th, I'm going go check it out!
It falls on Wednesday that Mr. Yano will be free at night. Well, he will be busy with the party though. Anyway, its still not sure but Mr. Yano is thinking of taking customers there for a change!

*it might be ending up going to an izakaya like usual though.

LCC. Peach Aviation

I tried to board a Peach's plane.
Peach is the first LCC in Japan.

You can enjoy your flight though price is reasonable.
But you have to take a notice if you are boarding at kansai International airport (KIX).

First, you need to head to Aeroplaza, a building located on the opposite site to the main terminal.
You do check-in and security check there.

You can check-in with this marchine.





Second, you pass a security check.
After that, you get on a bus which take you to the airport.
It is a bit strange, because you are going to board a plane from the Aeroplaza.
The bus go through the heavy gate and reach you to the plane.


Flight was OK, the same as other airlines.
I hope you get more chances to come to Osaka with this LCC!

Spa World

Spa World is really amazing.

It is a tourist attraction of spa and pool!
I am sure you have a fantastic time there!

It is popular because you can enjoy soaking and seeing the views in the world.
There are many spa there and change Asia zone and Europe zone every month.
Please check the website!

I had stayed there over 4 hours.
You need 1 day if you wanna spend time in the pool.
( Rental swimming wear as 530yen)

You don't have to bring anything：）
There are free towls, soap, combs, body towels...!
Just watch out your tattoo!
